Products play a crucial role in the lead management process within SalesTown CRM by allowing sales teams to associate specific offerings with each lead. This ensures accurate tracking of potential sales, pricing, discounts, and overall deal value, leading to more efficient and effective sales management.

Adding products to a lead in SalesTown CRM can be done in two primary ways: via the Add Lead form when creating a new lead and from the Lead Detail view for an existing lead. This guide provides a detailed step-by-step process for both methods.

Method 1: Adding a Product via the Add Lead Form

1. Navigate to the Leads Section

  • On the workboard, locate the Add Lead Button.
  • Click on the Add Lead button to open the lead creation form.

2. Add Product to Lead

  • Enter the relevant information for the new lead, such as the lead name, contact details, and other necessary fields.
  • Click on the 'Attach Product' button to open the product entry fields.

3. Select and Configure Product

  •  Then Search for the respective product in the search bar given in the product  entry field
Product Name It will fetched when searched
Price Enter the unit price of the product if not prefilled and fetched
Quantity Enter the quantity of the product
Discount Enter any discount to be applied in percentage 
Sum  The total amount will be calculated automatically based on the price, quantity, and discount

4. Review and Save

  • Total Products: The total no. of products added will be displayed.
  • Total Amount: The total amount for all products will be displayed excluding tax.
  • Review all the details and click on the 'Add Lead' button to create the lead with the associated products.

Method 2: Adding a Product from the Lead Detail View

1. Find the Lead to add the Product   

  • Use the search bar given on the workboard window to search the Lead Title.
  • Click on it and it will redirect to the Detail Page.

                                     Or

  • Browse from the workboard, and click on the respective Lead to add a Channel Partner.
  • It will redirect to its Detail Page

2. Add Product to Lead

  • In the Lead Detail view, click on the 'Add Product' button next to Lead Value to open the product entry fields.
  • The product Entry Fields will include the following fields-
Product Name Select the product from the dropdown list of already created products
Price Enter the unit price of the product if not prefilled and fetched
Quantity Enter the quantity of the product
Tax Specify the tax rate applicable to the product if not prefilled and fetched
Discount Enter any discount to be applied in percentage 
Sum  The total amount will be calculated automatically based on the price, quantity, tax, and discount
  • If you need to add more products, click on the 'Add More Products' button and repeat the above steps.

3. Review and Save

  • Subtotal: The subtotal will be automatically calculated and displayed.
  • Tax: The total tax amount will be displayed.
  • Total: The total amount for all products will be displayed.
  • Review all the details and click on the 'Save' button to update the lead with the associated products.
