Converting prospects into leads is a crucial step in your sales process. Prospects, also known as seedings, are potential customers who show interest in your products or services. When a prospect meets certain criteria and shows readiness to engage further, they can be converted into leads. This guide will walk you through the steps to convert a prospect into a lead in SalesTown CRM.
Steps to Convert a Prospect (Seeding) into a Lead
1. Navigate to the Seeding Page
- On the workboard, locate and choose the Seeding tab by clicking to access the Seeding List page.
- Search for the prospect you want to convert using the search bar or by browsing through the list.
2. Convert the Prospect
- Conversion of a Prospect to a Lead can be done in two ways -
via List View
via Detail View
- via List view-- Click on the three dots of the respective Prospect row. Then choose the Convert to Lead option.
- via Details view- Click on the prospect’s name to open their detail view. Then click on the Convert to Lead button.
- After clicking in both cases, the conversion process will be initiated, and the Add Lead form with prefilled details will be displayed.
3. Fill in Lead Information
- Add Lead Details: Fill in any additional information needed for the lead. This may include:
Organization Name | Enter the name of the organization the lead is associated with. |
Contact Person Name | Enter the name of the primary contact person for the lead. |
Lead Title | Enter a title for the lead, which can be customized as per the user’s choice. |
Attach Product (if required) | When clicked a search box will be shown and use the search option to find and attach the product. As per the searched product, all the fields include the product name, price, quantity, and discount, and the total amount will be calculated automatically. |
Lead Value | The lead value will be the value of the Lead. |
Pipeline and Pipe Stage | Choose the relevant pipeline and its stage from the dropdown menu. |
Expected Close Date | Select the expected close date for the lead. |
Who Can View | Choose whether the lead can be viewed by the owner or the entire company. |
Channel Partner | Choose any relevant channel partner information. |
Organization Address | Fill in the address details including Country, State, City, Address, PIN code |
Contact Person Email | Enter the email address of the contact person. |
Contact Number | Enter the phone number of the contact person. |
Designation | Enter the designation of the contact person. |
Custom Fields: | In case the user wants to add custom fields, they can do so by clicking on the Add Custom Field option. |
Some of the details like Organization Name, Address, Person Name, Email, Phone no. will be prefilled automatically if filled in the Prospect.
4. Save the Lead
- Double-check all the information entered for accuracy.
- Click the “Save” button to complete the conversion process.
- Success Message: You will receive a confirmation message indicating that the prospect has been successfully converted into a lead.
- Lead Management: The new lead will now appear in the Leads section of your CRM, where you can continue to manage and nurture it.
- Verify Existing Information: Ensure that the existing information from the prospect is correct.
